The WRPA Endowment Fund specifically fosters, seeks, encourages and receives gifts to enhance and develop parks and recreation programs and facilities throughout Washington State through community donations.
This Endowment Fund consists of generated contributions from both the WRPA Endowment Fund and the Mickey Corso Leadership Training Grant established programs and contracted by WRPA to be professionally invested through the authority of The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation.
It is the full intent for the WRPA Endowment Fund Committee to manage and execute each program as originally established.
The Endowment Fund is managed through an agreement with WRPA and the Greater Tacoma Community Foundation. Annual disbursements from the GTCF are managed by the WRPA Endowment Committee. The WRPA Endowment Committee is composed of seven WRPA members. The committee was formed by the WRPA Endowment Fund Steering Committee. Its membership and length of term consist of:
- Three WRPA Professional Members: appointed to one-year, two-year and three year terms
- Two WRPA Emeritus Members: appointed to one-year and three-year terms
- Two WRPA Citizen/Commercial Members: appointed to two-year and three-year terms
